their ride
Dead people don’t like it when you steal their ride. They have places to go and things to do.
And getting their body in the ground is one of the things they have to do. A poor scoundrel named Henry Lyles didn’t know this, though.
He made the unfortunate decision to stroll down to Grady Memorial Hospital and steal a hearse with a deceased passenger in it.
And to make matters worse, Lyles stole the hearse on the very special day that the Lawd made for man to rest.
Needless to say, nothing was working in Lyles’ favor. My Fox Atlanta reported that Lyles wrecked the hearse, jumped out, and stole another vehicle.
Lyles didn’t get too far in his second get away ride. The police caught up with him rather quickly and placed him in jail.
The owner of the hearse, Willy Watkins of Willy Watkins Funeral Home, told My Fox Atlanta that the living was making it hard for the dead.
Watkins said, “Even the dead cannot rest in peace.” Watkins went on to question whether Grady Memorial Hospital was a safe place for the living and the dead considering that he, the living, and the dead were robbed.
Watkins told My Fox Atlanta, “How is Grady going to keep this…from happening at their place!”
Although Grady didn’t have an answer, the dead passenger made it clear through divine intervention that he will find a way to get back at any fool who decides to wrong him during his eternal rest on a Sunday morning.
